2 questions that tell you where your things belong
(Stop guessing. Your house already knows.)

Ever lose something you just had?
You swear it was right there a second ago — scissors, tape, the good pen — and somehow it’s vanished into witness protection.
Before you buy another one, try these two questions.
They’re quite obvious, but sometimes we just need someone to spell it out for us.
Where would I look for this?
Next time something goes missing, notice where you look first.
That’s probably where it actually belongs, not where you wish you kept it.
When you finally find it, don’t overthink it.
Take it straight there.
If you always head to the hallway closet for tape, stop pretending it belongs in the office.
Give it the home it’s already earned.
Next time, your hand goes straight there.
You didn’t have to find it because it was where it belonged.
Where do these things naturally land?
Throughout your day, practice noticing.
Every house has its own “landing zones.”
The corner where mail piles up.
The hook that’s always full.
The floor spot that’s somehow a shoe museum.
Instead of fighting it, make it official.
Put a tray where the mail lands.
Hang another hook where jackets actually end up.
Drop a basket by the door for the shoes that always stop there anyway.
No, your kids’ crayons don’t belong in the bathroom. Some spots are just detours.
That’s really it.
Ask where you’d look for something, and notice where things land when you’re not thinking.
Your house is already giving you a map. You just have to start reading it.
