Tidy your kitchen top to bottom—In just a few steps

What you’ll need:

  • Cleaning supplies (all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant, etc.)

  • Microfiber cloths

  • Trash bags

  • Donation boxes

  • Vacuum cleaner

Time it’ll take: 3 hours

If you’re short on time, no worries! Just divide this list into smaller parts and sprinkle them throughout the week.


Sink and countertops

20-30 minutes

  • Clear the clutter from under the sink and countertops

  • Discard expired cleaning supplies, empty bottles, and unusable products

  • Group similar cleaning supplies and store them in a designated area

  • Wipe down the sink, countertops, and cabinets


Cabinets and drawers

30 minutes

  • Empty cabinets and drawers completely

  • Clean the inside of cabinets and drawers with a damp cloth

  • Categorize items into groups like cookware, bakeware, and utensils

  • Discard or donate broken, unused, or duplicate items

  • Return items in an organized manner, using dividers or organizers


Refrigerator, freezer, and pantry

30 minutes

  • Check expiration dates and discard expired food

  • Clean the interior of the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry shelves

  • Group similar items together and consider using clear containers for better visibility

  • Remove unnecessary items like empty containers and takeout boxes

  • Label pantry items and bins for easy access and upkeep


Kitchen island or meal-prep area

15-20 minutes

  • Clear the countertop of unnecessary items

  • Wipe down countertops and backsplash

  • Keep frequently used utensils within easy reach

  • Store small appliances in a designated area


Stovetop and oven

30-45 minutes

  • Clean the stovetop, removing spills and grime

  • Clean the oven interior and exterior

  • Organize pots and pans in an efficient manner

  • Clean the hood vent and filter
